Description
This very well protected salt water cove south of Ketchikan, Alaska offered a safe anchorage during a sailboat trip from Prince Rupert, BC to Sitka, Alaska via the Inside Passage. Locally, it's known as "Hole in the Wall" because of it's very narrow entrance between steep rocky shores. As it turns out, though, there are perhaps half a dozen such anchorages or channels along the Inside Passage with that very same local name.
Regardless of which hole in the wall this one is, the scene here is remarkably peaceful. The view is towards the west on an overcast morning after the previous day's winds had stopped. The trees and reflections on each side of the gap are nicely complimented by the outline of the hill and clouds in the distance.
