Description
It's hard to believe that this is the view from the middle of the city of Albuquerque. The Rio Grande flows through the center of the city, but is surrounded on both sides by the Bosque - a cottonwood forest in the flood plain that is home to numerous hiking and biking trails. The sandbars in the photo are covered in footprints from overwintering sandhill cranes, and the Sandia Mountains loom in the background.
