Melanie..I am humbled by your comment! This portrait (one of my favorites) is of a very remarkable Carmelite Priest..with a very passionate Ministry..you can view him on you tube at "Alter Servers 101'" He was at our parish for 3 years..

You're quite welcome. I actually have never had the pleasure of painting. My dad is an excellent oil painter but I've never had the chance to use the brushes. All of my pieces in color are colored pencil, but I admire those who can paint fine art. It strikes me that very few do create fine art and the more shows I go to, the more I see 'arts and crafts'. You're right about people not paying attention to detail in their work. I do have a Facebook as well as a facebook artist page. Drop on by, I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure I'm the only Connery Carson on there.

Thank you very much for your commentsand compliments! I see you also have a high degree of drawing and painting..you have a good sense of completeness in your artwork..Today a lot of artists ,Esp the Realists do not go the "extra mile" which is what the old masters did..they took art to the next level in their care of detail..and essence of their subject(s) I enjoyed your site and will continue to see your works . Do you have facebook?Id like befriending if you do..Visit my web at belitawilliamart.com

Belita, I must say your work is staggering. I have always been in love with the "traditional" portrait style of the old masters and you have captured the essence of that very well in this image. My favorite of your gallery...

Hi Ben Thank you for your comments. This portrait is very personal..It is of a young Carmelite Priest in our Parish for three years. He had a very fiery Ministry . He was also close to my Family during the illness and passing of my Husband. He is special and was loved by all in my Church. He has since moved on to Tuscon ,Arizona for a new assignment.( You can catch him in a video on You Tube "Alter Serving").
