Description
Around 1991 I was on my way back from the beach in Ventura when I found this spot on the old highway 126 near Fillmore and Magic Mountain. I snapped a photo then two years later painted this, one of my earlier landscapes. My eye was drawn to the rolling hills, the rough grasses, the water, and the smooth rocks. Since there is green in the hills, it was winter in southern California when the photo was taken. It was a period in my life when I was able to paint full-time.
