Description
The Strait of Juan de Fuca is a large body of salt water that is open to the Pacific Ocean on the west and leads inland to the waters of British Columbia and Washington State. It is notorious for seriously bad weather, so to find a day with sunshine and clearing fog is remarkable, especially in October as is the case with this photo. For the entire day, the strait was shrouded in dense low hanging fog and cloud, but late in the afternoon the sun finally burned it's way through, offering this brief but remarkable scene.
